About the event
This weeks topic is Impulsive/Destructive Behaviors. Impulsivity and destructive behaviors in adults are characterized by difficulty controlling impulses which can lead to harmful actions toward oneself or others, such as substance abuse, reckless spending, aggressive outbursts, self-injury, or risky sexual behavior. These behaviors can have serious consequences like strained relationships, financial troubles, and legal issues. Impulsivity is associated with conditions like ADHD, Borderline Personality Disorder, Addictive disorders, Antisocial Personality Disorder, and Intermittent Explosive Disorder. Some common behaviors are aggressive actions, explosive anger, verbal outburst, fighting destroying property), risky behavior (unsafe sex, reckless driving), compulsive activities (binge eating, gambling, excessive shopping, gambling, internet use), substance use (overusing alcohol and substances), self-harm (cutting, burning, or other forms of self-injury), and social and legal issues (lying, stealing, rule-breaking).
