Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Treatment

FAQ

How long will I be in treatment?

Each person's stay in treatment will be based on the level of treatment that they qualify for and their personal needs. You have the opportunity to reside in our transitional housing program for up to 24 months. Intensive Outpatient Treatment is no more than twelve weeks and Outpatient Treatment participation can last for up to one year.

Can I take my prescription medications while I'm in treatment?

Typically, yes. There are some medications that we do not allow in our program due to the potential for abuse. In most of these cases an alternative medication can be prescribed. We will address all medication questions and any concerns in our screening process, before you enter treatment, so that there is ample opportunity to address any medication concerns.

How much does treatment cost?

Our treatment program is designed to serve those who are uninsured or under-insured and have a low-income. There is no cost for treatment services as long as you meet the low-income requirement and reside in the Sandhills Center catchment area in North Carolina. This area includes the following counties: Anson, Guilford, Lee, Harnett, Hoke, Montgomery, Moore, Randolph, and Richmond. There is also no fee for the transitional housing program for the first three months of your stay. After three months you will be charged a fee to cover the cost of housing.

If you reside outside of these counties and are interested in receiving services please call our office at 336.886.5594.

Can I leave?

When you consent to treatment at Caring Services you are agreeing to follow the recommendations of the clinical staff, which include participating in treatment until the staff feels that you are ready to discharge from the program. However, you may leave against medical advice at any time, if you choose to do so.
If you reside outside of these counties and are interested in receiving services please call our office at 336.886.5594.

Can I smoke cigarettes while I am in the program?

While we encourage everyone to consider quitting tobacco use and offer counseling services to do so, we do allow smoking on our premises. You are not allowed to smoke inside the program facilities.
