Tell Miller Brewing Company to Drop Alcohol Energy Drinks
Advocates for sound alcohol policy scored a major victory last week when, after threats of litigation from the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) and an investigation by 11 state attorneys general, Anheuser-Busch, Inc. agreed to stop producing and marketing caffeinated alcoholic beverages such as Bud Extra and Tilt.
The company also agreed to call on all distillers and brewers to stop making these dangerous and deceptive products. (Learn more and read the settlement documents)
Now it's time to crank up the pressure on Miller Brewing Company, maker of the Sparks line of alcohol-energy drinks.
Sparks products contain 6% to 7% alcohol and are laced with stimulants like caffeine, taurine, and ginseng.
And Sparks is aggressively marketed to underage youth using tactics denounced by the state attorneys general and public interest groups like CSPI and the Marin Institute.
TAKE ACTION Write to Miller's president, demanding that the company follow Anheuser-Busch’s responsible leadership in taking alcoholic energy drinks off the market.
